Dear Friends,
The Delaware Branch of the Quality Deer Management Association is continuing our hard work to improve Delaware's deer herd and habitat by providing
educational opportunities for Delaware hunters and landowners. To meet these goals, the Branch relies on support from members and volunteers like YOU! Here
are just a few highlights of the accomplishments your Delaware Branch have achieved:
-The Branch continued to support the DE Sportsmen Against Hunger Program by hosting the 1st Annual Crab Feast and Benefit Shoot. The funds raised are
being used to help supply processed venison to those in need.
-For the first time the Branch partnered with Mid-Del Charitable Foundation to secure funding to support the Sussex County Council Annual Food Drive and the
Sportsmen Against Hunger Program. Also for the first time we provided funds to assist the Long Neck American Legion and a local butcher shop which provides
venison and other items to Delaware troops serving throughout the world. Developed a statewide ad campaign to raise awareness for the Sportsmen Against
Hunger Program which appeared in 9 major newspapers and in 2 segments of WBOC 16's weekly "Outdoors Delmarva" Program.
-Hosted in cooperation with the Delaware Department of Agriculture a ½ day Seminar to promote sound conservation and deer management practices to over
250 landowners and hunters.
-Continued our long time partnership with 4-H youth Shooting Sports by sponsoring youth hunts and hunter education programs.
-Provided educational opportunities to numerous hunting clubs, professional organizations, high school and college students, landowners and hunters.
-Worked with State Legislators to protect of our hunting heritage, provide for more hunter access, and additional funding for conservation and wildlife agencies.
As you can see our Branch has been very active and we look forward to continuing these efforts. Your generous donations of time and money have given our
Branch the tools to be a driving force for conservation in Delaware. Since our inception, many of our members have chosen to become a Delaware Branch Local
Partner. It is our hope that as you renew your QDMA annual membership that you consider joining us as a Local Partner. While all of our volunteers and donors
are invaluable, our Delaware Branch Local Partnerships are the foundation upon which we build our success.
We have listed our current Branch Partner's below. Please join them!
